Disney has announced that their “Season of the Force” festivities will begin at Disneyland on November 16.
“Season of the Force” will include a relaunch of “Star Tours” which will include a new scene inspired by “The Force Awakens”; a limited-time reimagining of “Space Mountain” called ‘Hyperspace Mountain” which will put riders in the middle of an X-wing battle; “Launch Bay”, which is a new exhibit area were fans can see props, interact with their favorite characters and get sneak peaks at the upcoming film.
While the Disneyland opening will be in November, no date has been announced for the Disney Hollywood Studios openings.
While we are on the subject, Disney also announced that “Rivers of America” and “Disneyland Railroad” will be temporarily closed starting on January 10 in order to begin construction on the new 14-acre “Star Wars” land. The expansion will also result int he permanent closing of the Big Thunder Ranch and petting zoo. No word on what will happen to the goats.
