Salaries of “Star Wars” Cast Varied Wildly Between Returning Stars and New Cast
So how much did the “Star Wars” actors get paid to be in what will likely be the highest grossing film of all time? Well, if your name is Harrison Ford, you got paid pretty well. However, if you are relatively new to the scene – like John Boyega and Daisy Ridley – you didn’t get paid nearly as much as anyone would guess.
Variety Magazine reports that Harrison Ford made between $10 – $20 million for reprising his role in “The Force Awakens”, while Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher made somewhere in the “low seven figures”. Supposedly Disney used two pay scales for the film – one for the returning cast members and another (lower) one for the new kids.
Adam Driver and Oscar Issac – both having had experience on big movies and television shows – reportedly earned mid-to-upper six figures, while the two stars of the film – Ridley and Boyega – each made around $100,000 – $300,000.
Expect everyone to get paid a lot more the next time around.
(Spoiler alert!!)
Well, almost everyone.
