“Yes, Lord Megatron!”
Nintendo of America announced over Twitter this week that the next theme for their wildly popular new IP Splatoon’s monthly Splatfest competition would be a battle as old as time….or really 1984.
Yes, this Splatfest all you fresh inklings out there will proudly wear your t-shirts for team Autobots or team Decepticons. You can always trust Splatfest to ask us the tough questions, like “Dogs or Cats?” or “Water slides or Roller coasters?” but this question looks to be the darkest that old man Nintendo has forced us to ask ourselves. Good vs. Evil. Light vs. Dark. Optimus Prime vs. Megatron. For a game that essential has us play interior decorator to the sound of nonsensical Japanese techno-pop music, this Splatfest looks to be serious war between the dichotomy of morality. I can’t wait for all of the miiverse posts of Bumblebee with a paint roller.
Personally, I’m all in for team Decepticons. Optimus Prime is a nark who is afraid of his own power. I mean really, they are giant robots disguised as human vehicles with laser weapons and plasma cannons, and all that goodie two-shoes Prime thinks to do is help the puny human race? Pathetic. But you know, that’s just me. Whatever side you pick, this Splatfest will certainly be one for the ages.
The Transformers Splatfest will go live on Friday, August 28th at 9 PM and will end after 24 hours of intense ink warfare.
