New Trailer for “Batman v. Superman” Includes Wonder Woman and Doomsday?
Well I didn’t expect all of this on a Thursday morning. Warner Bros. Pictures has dropped a new trailer for Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Batman v. Superman” film and I’m not sure how to feel about it.
I’m going to do some extrapolating which may turn into spoilers, so stop here if you wish. Otherwise, let’s take a magical journey into what we just saw.
First, watch the thing, then we can talk.
As was predictable from the film’s title, we see a lot of animosity and eventually a fight between Batman and Superman. I didn’t like the idea of Bat-fleck originally, but I had decided to hold off judgement and eventually I got use to the idea. This trailer makes me nervous again. I just don’t see any chemistry between the heroes – good or bad. The exchange between Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent was supposed to be tense, but to me it just didn’t seem anything.
For now, I’m just going to take a Xanax and not worry about it. Gotta see the whole thing on a big screen in context, right?
I’m also not sure I get Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Some of the later clips showed promise, but in the earlier clips he just came off as annoying. Perhaps that is supposed to be a big act to keep people from suspecting him of being an evil villain? I sort of like the cartoon version of Lex Luthor better, I guess. Imposing captain of industry not to be messed with.
Again, I’ll take another Xanax and wait for the finished product.
Beyond that, it looks like the story is shaping up. It would appear Lex gets his hands on the remains of General Zod and turns them into Doomsday? I vaguely recall rumors of Doomsday appearing in one of these films or another. Still, it was a treat to see him and it looks like they handled him well.
They also dropped in Gal Godot as Wonder Woman. It looks like her screen time may in fact be significant in the film. Her appearance wasn’t given any context though, so it felt kind of random, but whatever, I’m just going to go take another Xanax.
Anyways, “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” opens on March 25th, 2016. Hopefully I’ll be out of rehab for my Xanax addiction by then.
