While Still a Month Away, “Legends of Tomorrow” is Making a Lot of Noise
For a show that has never aired, “Legends of Tomorrow” managed to fill up the ‘ole rumor mill today compliments of Bleedingcool.com.
First Bleedingcool.com reported that, good or bad, we shouldn’t get too comfortable with the idea of a second season of “Legends of Tomorrow”. It would appear the production has turned out to be prohibitively expensive.
Featuring an ensemble of heroes – each with their own powers – time-traveling towards adventure, the special effects budget is probably through the roof. Not to mention that future seasons would probably see costs escalate with the addition of characters, increases in salaries, etc.
All this potentially adds up to a short run for the series, unfortunately.
That said, producers had already indicated each season would tie off as complete story. Hopefully they’ve got something epic in mind for us. Looks that way so far – at least from the teasers.
The story only gets worse though. If they do cancel the show after one season we may miss out on the return of Matt Ryan as Constantine – who is being rumored as a potential season 2 addition to the cast.
Bleedingcool.com was less confident about this rumor (see five paragraphs above). Ryan did, however, just finish a great cross-over episode on “Arrow” a few weeks ago which means he is now officially part of that world.
Anyway, for now these are just rumors. “Legends of Tomorrow” premieres on January 21st. It would appear the stage will be set tomorrow (December 1) and Wednesday during this season’s Flash / Arrow crossover event.
Here is a preview:
This one looks pretty fantastic and that is all I have to say about that.
