BBC News is reporting rumors that Jenna Louise Coleman will be leaving “Doctor Who” prior to the Christmas Special.
Coleman told the Radio Times this week, “You’re in Doctor Who knowing it will never last. It’s constantly regenerating, so you want to make your time count and enjoy the adventure for the fleeting time you’re here.”
Coleman has played the role of Clara Oswald since 2012, attending to both Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi’s versions of the Doctor. This is not the first time it’s been reported that she plans to depart. This time, it may well be true, however, as the actress is rumored to be taking the role of a young Queen Victoria in an upcoming miniseries.
The new season of “Doctor Who” premieres Saturday, September 19, on BBC One and BBC America.
